5 - 1 - 1
Our 5 senses are constantly receiving and interpreting sensory input. In every moment, whether we are aware of it or not, our senses of sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste are alive.
Our mind often takes all this sensory information and tells a story that strings all of this together in some coherent way. The practice of connecting directly offers you a way to pause this story telling and truly noticing what is around you.
Here is a simple way to ground and connect to nature. I call it "5 - 1 - 1". Simply, notice what you experience through your 5 primary senses - by picking out and exploring each sense with the same (1) being (a tree, a rock, a leaf, a flower....) - and do this once (1) a day.
5 senses - 1 being - 1 time a day
You might just notice something about the beings you explore, in the calming pause it offers the mind or the energy it may boost in the spirit.
